New Intel Xeon Phi Processor x200: Knight's Landing
Available now! The new Intel Xeon Phi x200 processors (former codename: Knight's Landing) are designed using 14nm technology and Intel's MIC (Many Integrated Core) architecture, the Xeon Phi x200 processors contain up to 72 cores and 288 threads, providing massive parallel processing power. These are the perfect building block for the next generation of parallel compute systems, HPC clusters, and supercomputers.
The biggest improvement brought by Knight's Landing is the switch from a PCIe card to a dedicated, bootable CPU. The latest generation of Xeon Phi can now boot a standard OS, making the Xeon Phi even more accessible to developers.
Various applications such as big data, financial analysis, machine learning, microbiology, weather & space simulation, 3D rendering, coal & oil exploration and more will greatly benefit from this leap forward in processing technology.
Knight's Landing is currently used or planned for use in the following supercomputers:
Cori Supercomputer at NERSC
Stampede 2 Supercomputer at TACC
Theta at Argonne National Lab
Trinity System at NNSA
We currently offer Knight's Landing Xeon Phi processor systems in an ultra high-density server and in a high-performance workstation.
